Top 10 Summer A Cappella Jams
Top 10 Summer A Cappella Jams
Let's extend the summer a little bit by counting down the Top 10 A Cappella Summer Jams!
Happy Labor Day!
This also means that, officially speaking, summer is over.
To extend the summer season just a bit longer, here are our Top 10 Summer A Cappella Jams!
10. "All Time Low" apb Voiceplay
Voiceplay teamed up with J.None for a mashup that we can use to cover two songs: Jon Bellion's "All Time Low" and Alessia Cara's "Scars To Your Beautiful."
9. "Chained To The Rhythm" apb Backtrack
Backtrack recorded this stellar video at YouTube Space and gave FloVoice an inside look.
8. "Rise Up" apb Birdland Avenue
It's perhaps not an officially sanctioned "Billboard Summer Jam." but a few groups have covered this song recently.
Birdland Avenue, who competed at this year's Aca Open Seminfinals, is both new and relatively young and already blowing minds.
7. "Stay" apb Hansel Romero ft. Elle Brigida
Aca Divas' Elle Brigida teamed up with Hansel Romero for this Alessia Cara/Zedd collab track that received 647K claps on MTV's Cover of the Month contest.
Another notable cover of "Stay" by Naturally 7
6. Ariana Grande's "Dangerous Woman" Album apb Vocalight
In the interest of time and space, here's Vocalight's medley of Ariana's new album that none of use can get out of our heads!
Also jamming Ariana? JD Frizzell's new project JUNE
5. "Believer" apb Tufts Beezlebubs
This song, although seemingly ever present, does not have the scores of cover videos you might expect.
We like this one-take video from the Tufts Beelzebubs, who slowed the song down to 50 percent to record the video, before ramping up to two-times playback speed.
4. "Shape of You" apb The Filharmonic
Sometimes a song lingers and just won't go away. This Ed Sheeran tune has been covered by so many groups, it was hard to pick one.
This live version by The Filharmonic seemed like the right choice. Which is your favorite?
3. "Want You Back" apb Choir! Choir! Choir!
This cover of HAIM's Wilson Phillips-esque "Want You Back" is brought to you by the same group who's responsible for the epic 1,500-singer version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" with Rufus Wainwright.
2. "That's What I Like" apb Straight No Chaser
We haven't featured Straight No Chaser nearly enough here on FloVoice yet, and that should all change soon... ;)
1. "Despecito" apb Aula39
Aula39's version feels more organic and authentic than most, don't you agree?
To many, this song is a disease. Most people don't know that it was originally released by Puerto Rican artists Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
The Justin Bieber and Major Lazer covers didn't come out until a few months later.
Here's to not hearing any of these songs this competition season!
