The A Cappella Video Awards are currently in their second year and feature 114 nominees across 23 awards in three categories: special awards nominations, group type nominations, and group nominations.
Winners will be announced LIVE on FloVoice at the 2018 Los Angeles A Cappella Festival on Feb. 11, 2018.
Let's continue with some of our favorites among the Special Awards nominations.
Outstanding Choreography / Staging: "Beauty and the Beast Medley " by BYU Vocal Point ft. Lexi Walker
Our pick for the first category is definitely the "Beauty and the Beast Medley" by BYU Vocal Point. It's beautiful, classic, and perfectly executed. Clearly a lot of thought went into this video, and while the rest of the noms are also fantastic, this one tips the scale.
Runner Up: "Can't Stop The Feeling" by Peter Hollens ft. Mario Jose
Outstanding Collaborative Video: "All I Ask" by Forte ft. India Carney
These are community awards after all, and we're going to throw behind a clear community favorite, India Carney. Her talent and star power, combined with the ever-excellent Forte, helped make a very special video with their rendition of “All I Ask.”
Runner Up: "O Come All Ye Faithful" by Pentatonix
Outstanding Costumes / Makeup: "Shape of You" by Peter Hollens
We're going pro here and definitely feel the effort and polish shown in Peter Hollens’ “Shape of You” blows away the competition. The consistency from scene to scene and the sheer variety and quality of the costuming sets this a notch above.
Runner Up: "Beauty and the Beast A Cappella Medley" by Vocal Point ft. Lexi Walker (Brigham Young University)
Outstanding Live Video: "Gold" by Pentatonix
Can anyone really compete with PTX live? There’s a reason they’re where they are in their careers. “Gold” is stunning.
Runner Up: "Sun" by OneVoice (Briarcrest Christian School)
Outstanding Special / Visual Effects / Animation:
There are some fantastic nominees here, but again, no one can compete with PTX in this category, given that they’re releasing industry-level media. “Coldest Winter” freezes out the competition here, hands down.
Runner Up: "The Dragonborn Comes" by Peter Hollens
Outstanding Video Editing:
This is always a tough category, since production and setting can easily be conflated with editing. We think the dark and atmospheric “Guillotine” by m-pact takes the win. The cuts are perfectly timed, and the effects accentuate the mood of the video, as opposed to seeming tacked onto the product for flash.

That's It For Part 2!
