BHS Midwinter Convention: Thursday Night Lineup
Seniors Quartet contest & Youth Chorus Festival at Barbershop Harmony Society's Midwinter Convention with showcases Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
Beyond such staples as the International Seniors Quartet contest and Youth Chorus Festival, the Barbershop Harmony Society's Midwinter Convention is also bringing a cultivated showcase of excellence to Costa Mesa, CA, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
Here's a complete look at the lineup for Thursday night's show, which gets underway at 7:30 PST.

THURSDAY'S LINEUP
AISQC Chorus and Quartets
Three years after the first International Seniors Quartet contest in 1986, the Association of International Senior Quartet Champions was formed by those first three champions: George Baggish Memorial Quartet, Close Harmony Tradition, and Silvertones.
This year will not only mark the crowning of the 33rd Senior Quartet champion but also the 25th annual edition of the Show of Champions.
The AISQC set will feature past Seniors Quartet Champions Over Time (2000), Saturday Evening Post (2015), High Priority (2016), and Party of Five (2017).
Adrenaline
2017 Sweet Adelines International Rising Star Champion
Adrenaline had its first rehearsal at Midwinter 2017 in San Antonio and took home the gold later that August at Sweet Adelines Internationals' Rising Star Quartet Contest in College Park, MD.
All four members grew up in barbershop and say they can’t wait to work as role models for young singers and represent women’s barbershop.
Flightline
2017 Youth Barbershop Quartet Champion
Flightline formed from the BoomTown youth chorus in 2013 and has been one of the best quartets in SoCal ever since. The quartet won the 2015 Dealers Choice Award and is a former also Far Western District champion.
Five years (and three baritones) later, Flightline finally won gold in the 2017 YBQC.
After Hours
2017 International Quartet Bronze Medalist
After Hours began at Bradley University in Peoria, IL, in 2007. Since then, the group has placed in the top 10 at the International Quartet Contest multiple times.
After Hours has performed for a variety of barbershop and non-barbershop shows all across the United States and is known for its stunning musical theatre numbers.
Main Street
2017 International Quartet Champion
Main Street brings over 100 years of barbershop experience to the stage, with its members performing in other notable quartets such as Keepsake, MaxQ, Metropolis, Platinum, and Rounders.
All four members have also been or currently are performers at Walt Disney World with the Dapper Dans of Main St. USA and/or the Voices of Liberty.
The Newfangled Four
2017 International Quartet Finalist
Born out of the Westminster Chorus and Masters of Harmony five years ago, The Newfangled Four quickly became the 2013 International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet champions as well as the winners of the 2013 Far Western District Championship.
In 2014, they received the Dealer’s Choice Award for being the highest-scoring debut quartet of the year and came in ninth place at the 2017 Internationals Quartet Championships.
Signature
2017 International Quartet Silver Medalist
Signature represented the Sunshine District at the International Quartet competition in both 2015 and 2016.
The group won the District Quartet championship in 2015 and captured the 2017 International silver medal. Don't miss Signature's big sound and the variety of musical genres that its members bring to each performance.
Westminster Chorus
2015 International Chorus Champion
Led by 2018 All Chapter chorus director Justin Miller, the Westminster Chorus is the 2009 "Choir of the World" Pavarotti Trophy winner as well as the 2007, 2010, and 2015 BHS International Chorus gold medalist.
The Westminster Chorus says it's "truly grateful for the recent recognition it has earned and thrilled for the new performances and competitions soon to come."
Vocal Spectrum
2006 International Quartet Champion
Vocal Spectrum has been singing together since 2003 and met studying different fields at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. The quartet was originally formed as a one-time educational quartet to sing for a local high school and hasn't stopped since.
In 2004, the group won the International Collegiate Quartet Contest, and in 2006 it became International Barbershop Quartet champion.
