New a cappella sensation Vocalight teamed up with YouTube sensation Peter Hollens for a collaboration you need to hear. Months in planning and preparation, it brings together incredible talent on the music from one of Broadway’s biggest hits.

According to group manager Ben Spalding, the idea for this video came about at the 2017 ICHSA Finals in New York City last April, which Vocalight was hosting. 

“I was sitting in the audience and I got a text from Peter to come and say hello,” Spalding says. “Peter and I had known each other a little bit from the past projects, but collaborations hadn’t come together until now. It’s amazing to have stars like Peter give back to younger people that are doing all that they can to follow in their footsteps.”

Ideas flowed and by summertime the idea of doing something from Dear Evan Hansen came together. Hollens did one version of "Waving Through a Window" on his channel and Vocalight made their own version, then each version highlighted the other’s.

Given their incredibly full schedules, the work was done around touring schedules and Hollens' recent show on Broadway, "Home for the Holidays."
