Legacy Sings The Magic Of The Movies
Legacy is the first-ever group to have an AcaOpen and ICHSA Semifinal championship title. Today they celebrate motion pictures ahead of the Oscars.
With its ICHSA Semifinal win Saturday night, Legacy became the first-ever group to have an AcaOpen and ICHSA Semifinal championship title. This auditioned community high school ensemble is directed by Rob Dietz, whose credits include “The Sing-Off” and A Cappella Academy.
Legacy represents a new movement in the a cappella community, expanding the style’s reach beyond scholastic groups for school-aged singers in the Los Angeles community. In a few short years, the group has garnered many competition wins and awards and appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York for the inaugural AcaOpen finals in 2017.
On Friday, the group released a music video celebrating the history of motion pictures. Originally created for their competition set at Los Angeles A Cappella Festival, this medley takes the listener through 16 iconic soundtrack songs. The group earned second place at the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival Scholastic Competition, and now you can get ready for the Oscars with the studio version.
