First AEA Invitational Showcases 9 Top Groups
The National A Cappella Convention includes the 1st ever AEA Collegiate Invitational, featuring 9 of the best collegiate groups in the US.
Nine collegiate groups are competing for a $5,000 cash prize, a fully produced video of their competition set, and the title of national champion at the first-ever A Cappella Education Association Collegiate Invitational this Saturday.
The competition, which hosts a high school invitational on Friday, takes place this weekend as part of the 2018 National A Cappella Convention at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, TN.

The lineup of college groups boasts several award-winning performances from earlier this year, including at the ICCA Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals; SoJam; BOSS; LAAF; Sing! Texas; and the National A Cappella Convention.

Pitch Slapped
Berklee College of Music | Boston, MA
This famed group from one of the most prestigious music schools in the country has twice won the ICCA Finals, appeared on NBC's "The Sing-Off," and recently took home several honors in this year's CARAs for its sophomore album, "Complexion."
VirtuOSO
Baylor University | Waco, TX
Founded only six years ago, VirtuOSO have made it to ICCA Semifinals twice and advanced to Finals in 2015. This group is always oozing with talent.
Mixed Mode
University of Central Florida | Orlando, FL
Formed in 2015, the innovative Mixed Mode have already made successful appearances at SoJam and ICCA, recently finishing third in the ICCA South Semifinal.
Lark
University of Colorado, Denver | Denver, CO
Winning both BOSS and SoJam in 2015, this UCD all-female identified group has headlined shows around the world and is not afraid to push boundaries.
Faux Paz
University of Maryland, College Park | College Park, MD
Faux Paz made it to ICCA Finals in both 2015 and 2016 and continue to grace stages nationwide. The group's success also led it to a feature on season two of "Sing It On!"
Gestalt
University of Florida | Gainesville, FL
We've seen a lot of Gestalt in competition this year and they never disappoint. The group's album "Beyond the Archetype" took home Best Debut Album, runner-up for Best Electronic/Experimental Album, runner-up for Best Religious Song, Best Professional Arrangement for a Scholastic Group, and Best Mixed Collegiate Solo at this year's CARA ceremony.
Reverb
Florida State University | Tallahassee, FL
Loves dancing and always ready to captivate, this group has won a slew of CARAs, went to ICCA Finals in 2013, and won BOSS in 2014. Expect a balance of humor with incredible musicality.
License to Trill
Texas Christian University | Fort Worth, Texas
License to Trill kicked off their year with a win at SING! Texas. They've also appeared at ICCA Semifinals, on BOCA, and on Sing 14.
Key Harmony
University of Central Florida | Orlando, FL
Previously competing in ICCA and the winner of SoJam XV in 2017, the ladies of Key Harmony are fearless and creative.
