Peter Hollens' 'Legendary Folk Songs' Tops Two Billboard Charts
Peter Hollen’s latest album, “Legendary Folk Songs,” topped the two Billboard charts this week.
The a cappella community celebrated Peter Hollens back when he sang with University of Oregon’s On The Rocks. When he made an encore performance with the group on “The Sing-Off” in 2010, it would be the start of a new path for the singer-turned-entrepreneur and social media mogul.
Since launching his own YouTube channel and solo social media brand in 2011, Hollens has amassed more than five million followers, collaborating with dozens of the biggest names, not only in a cappella but across the music business. Peter and his wife Evynne even appeared on Broadway during the 2017 holiday season in “Home for the Holidays” while launching the Hollens Creator Academy to provide creators with “key entrepreneurship skills and strategies needed to live their passion in the digital age.”
Quite a bit for someone with humble beginnings in collegiate a cappella, right?
The climb is still going, though. After releasing more the 160 singles over the last seven years, Hollen’s latest album, “Legendary Folk Songs” topped two Billboard charts this week. Leading the Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums charts and sitting at No. 114 on the Billboard 200 this week also earned Hollens a No. 6 on the Billboard Emerging Artists list.
With this latest accomplishment, Hollens is proving, yet again, that he is leading the revolution of content creation, where the relationship between the creators and their fans is paramount.
This all leaves us with the question: How will Peter Hollens change the world next?
We may not have the answer yet, but seeing how Peter is open, honest, and frequent in his communication with his fan community, all you have to do is sit back and watch.
