A Choir You Have To See To Believe!
Follow the journey of 18 singers with respiratory issues band together into the Philips Breathless Choir.

Can you imagine trying to sing when every single breath is a battle?
Follow the remarkable journey of 18 singers with respiratory problems who banded together for a final performance at New York City's famous Apollo Theater.
Health technology company Philips put together the "Breathless Choir" to help these singers "discover a new sense of independence and freedom."
Pitch Battle judge Gareth Malone stepped in as choirmaster to direct and guide the group.
"Singing comforts, consoles, amuses and it's so simple," Malone says. "It's just you and your voice and your breath."
Professor Sairam Parthasarathy of the University of Arizona says, "The respiratory muscles could be exercised by singing -- that's only going to improve their capacity."
