The Southeast Open is set for this Saturday, November 2 and will be one of the top events of the opening weekend of the season. Every year, the Virginia Tech Hokies host an event that features double digit Division 1 teams.
In a week where no new teams entered the polls, there were still plenty of key takeaways from this past week. With only about three weeks left in the season, upsets and surprises aren't rampant, but there are still plenty of games with huge implications and intriguing matchups.

Opening weekend for the North Dakota State wrestling team is Nov.1-2. They'll be facing Virginia and then participating in the Southeast Open, hosted at the home of Virginia Tech. The very next week, on Nov. 9, they will host their own Bison Open.

Obe Blanc announced today that he is hiring one of his former students from his days as an assistant to Pat Popolizio as four-time NCAA All-American Hayden Hidlay will join the North Dakota State Bison wrestling program as an assistant coach.
